The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program’s principal focus is on helping students acquire up-to-date generalist and specialist knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to effectively and efficiently address present and future local, regional, and global public health challenges. To educate future-ready public health professionals, the MPH curriculum incorporates mandatory courses in multiple disciplines including biostatistics, biological sciences, demography, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, health economics, health information and technology, health policy and law, health services management, public health ethics, research proposal development, and social and behavioural sciences. Also, each student conducts a supervised research project and writes a dissertation. Besides the core courses, students take major courses and elective courses to customize their study plan based on personal interests and job market trends.
- Candidates having MBBS/BDS/MD/DVM/Physiotherapy / Occupational therapy / B.
- Nursing/ BAMS / BUMS / BHMS or any equivalent degree in Medical/Health Sciences from a recognized University / Institution and four Years B.Sc. Nursing also can apply.
- Candidates with the following degrees and job experience are eligible for admission to the MPH degree program.
- A) A Master degree in Health/ Biological science, Science, Environmental science and Social science from a recognized University or accredited institution of higher education with preferably at least two (2) years working experience in the health or social development sectors.
- B) Three (3) or four (4) year Bachelor degree in Health/ Biological sciences, Science, Environmental science and Social science from a recognized University or accredited institution of higher education with preferably three (3) years working experience in the health and or social development sectors.
- C) Three (3) or four (4) year B.Sc. degree in Medical / Dental technology from any recognized institution with preferably three (3) years working experience in the health or social development sectors.
- D) Bachelor / Master degree holders other than specified above are eligible for admission subject to having job experience, preferably 5 years in health or social development sectors.
- E) Students must have passed HSC/A-level or equivalent examinations and secured at least second division or GPA-2.5 in each of the examinations. But aggregate number of the two examinations must not be less than GPA-6. Descendant of Freedom Fighter requires minimum GPA -5 in aggregate of the two examinations. In graduate level examination, a student must have secured minimum GPA- 2.
- F) In case of‘0 ‘Level & ‘ A ‘ Level categories, student must have secured ‘ B ‘ Grade or GPA-4 in each of the four subjects out of seven, and C Grade or GPA- 3.5 in each of the rest three subjects.
- G) Student, who passed GED (General Education Development), must have secured 410 marks in each of the courses (5 courses) separately out of 800 marks with an average 450 marks

- Computation of Grades Grade point average (GPA) and Total Credit
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): The weighted average of the GPAs of a student for all the courses will be calculated from the following equations:

If a Candidate fails to qualify (clear ‘F’) in first attempt he/she shall can reappear in a next examination with only paying examination fees.
-
If any Candidate fails to attend the required percentage of attendance (75%) he /she will get the chance to sit for the next examination with full course and examination fees.

Master of Public Health (MPH)
Under the Faculty of Unani & Ayurvedic Medicine
The MPH degree is the most widely recognized professional credential for leadership in public health. The field of public health is a multidisciplinary subject which extends from basic medical subjects to highly specialised public health subjects and technology, the requirement of human resources with MPH degree in Bangladesh will serve in different health program that would be introduced in the coming days of HUB. With this novel view MPH degree is highly professional credential for making leaders in the area of health field. Based on the extensive teaching, innovative local priority based research, change of socioeconomic status; the HUB is going to offers Master of Public Health (MPH) for highly motivated professionals. The course offers a broad public health perspective designed to teach in a larger socio-economic context in order to develop professionals with managerial and technical competence. The program ensures achievement of defined preventive healthcare services in line with the objective of “Health For All” envisioned by The World Health Organization (WHO). The course accepts students from a wide range of backgrounds preferably medical related education and training; health service professionals, healthcare service providers, social scientists, experts from any discipline and those who have worked in national healthcare systems, international agencies or NGOs. Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program has been designed following the latest UGC standard syllabus guidelines for highly motivated students with related work experiences or a professional degree as well as a substantial interest in an area of public health. A unique sequencing of courses, community based pragmatic activities and laboratory research provides students with multiple opportunities to define their specialty and to tailor their course of study. Individualized programs are shaped through frequent interactions with faculty throughout the courses, field experiences and the dissertation.

Objectives: Prepare students to develop specialization skills in one or more Public Health areas including:
- Developing working knowledge of the principles and methods of epidemiologic investigation to effectively identify and track threats to Public Health as well as strategies to enhance community health.
- Implementing cutting edge community health education and intervention programs.
- To develop Public Health policies, evaluating its impact on community health and acquiring leadership skills for Public Health administration.
- Developing and using appropriate statistical methods to effectively evaluate Public Health threats and/or strategies to enhance the health of the community.
- Conducting risk assessments threatening the health of specific communities.
- Developing skill personnel for effective hospital administration & management to provide curative, preventive & rehabilitative services to the clients & its environment.

- Computation of Grades Grade point average (GPA) and Total Credit
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): The weighted average of the GPAs of a student for all the courses will be calculated from the following equations:

If a Candidate fails to qualify (clear ‘F’) in first attempt he/she shall can reappear in a next examination with only paying examination fees.

If any Candidate fails to attend the required percentage of attendance (75%) he /she will get the chance to sit for the next examination with full course and examination fees.
